Navy is an unusual choice for duck trousers and a good one. It is darker than khaki and less severe than black, and it looks like clothing rather than uniform when you stop somewhere on the way home. The duck is washed, so the fabric is soft from the beginning, and there is no lining, which keeps them wearable year round. The carpenter fittings sit on the outside of the thigh where a hand finds them without looking.
