Insulated Flannel Shirt Jacket in Plaid

The shirt jacket exists because a lot of days are not cold enough for a coat and not warm enough for a shirt. Flannel gives it the softness and the brushed surface of a shirt, the insulation gives it the warmth of a light jacket, and the plaid keeps it from looking like workwear when it is not being worn as workwear. It buttons like a shirt, so it can be worn open over a tee or closed as the outer layer.

This is the piece that lives on the back of a chair and gets grabbed on the way out. Wear it over a plain tee and let the pattern do the talking, or under a heavier coat in deep winter as the middle layer. Green plaid goes with almost everything in a workwear wardrobe, which is most of the reason it exists.
